Purpose of the Position
A Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior executive responsible for managing the financial health and strategic direction of the organization. The CFO oversees all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, financial planning, and risk management, ensuring the extractX‘s financial stability, its bitcoin finance strategy and growth. They also play a crucial role in strategic decision-making, working closely with the CEO and other executives to achieve company goals.
Essential Functions

- Act as the integrator and navigator for the organization;
- Be an effective leader of the finance and accounting function;
- Bring professional qualities to the role and the organization.
Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Establishing of a full set of financial internal controls that will record and safeguard the operational assets of extractX (i.e. cash, accounts receivable, inventory, capital assets, intellectual properties, etc.)
- Establishing of an accounting system that will provide full disclosure financial reporting as needed and when needed by senior management (i.e. production reports daily, weekly cost reports, monthly financial reports in IFRS so that the commitment to continuous public issuer reporting at each quarter is made easier, etc.)
- Developing a cash flow forecasting system that is updated with actual cash transactions and changes in future transactions – the most important aspect of a good cash management system is the analysis of variances.
- Developing a risk management policy manual that identifies all possible exposures to risk and sets out how that risk is mitigated.
- Developing and overseeing the bitcoin financing strategy.
- Managing and overseeing all aspects of global taxation whether commodity, corporate or shareholder based.
- Being the main liaison with all banking and lending institutions, the Company auditors, insurance brokers and government taxation authorities.
- Being a joint liaison with Company solicitors and any Securities Commissions with other members of the C-Team.
- Overseeing and supervise the accounting, finance and human resource functions (once the HR (Corporate) load becomes sufficiently large enough then a Director of HR would be hired).
Strategic Planning:
- Providing financial leadership in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, and capital allocation.
- Bringing a finance and risk management perspective to all business strategy discussions and plans
Risk Management:
- Identifying and mitigating financial risks, developing risk management strategies (currency and bitcoin), and ensuring the company’s financial health and stability.
Team Leadership:
- Building and leading a high-performing finance and accounting team, providing guidance and support to staff, and fostering a culture of excellence.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Presenting financial reports and analysis to the board of directors, investors, and other stakeholders, and communicating financial information clearly and effectively.
- Being a joint liaison with Company solicitors and any Securities Commissions with other members of the C-Team
Relationship Management:
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with external partners, including banks, investors, and auditors.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of the bitcoin and traditional financial principles to navigate complex financial landscapes effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of various computer accounting systems including SAGE50, QuickBooks, and Microsoft 365
- Thorough understanding of social media and web analytics
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Creativity and commercial awareness
- A team player with a customer-oriented approach
- CPA, MBA, or BA in business administration or relevant field
